The Public Utilities Board (PUB) plans to build a detention tank and diversion canal at Stamford Canal Catchment to ease potential flood levels during the monsoon season.
In a statement, PUB said the new canal will help divert about 38 per cent of water from Stamford Canal catchment to the Singapore River.
Singapore is heading into the monsoon season from October to December when heavy rains and flash floods are common in low-lying areas of the city-state. Full story
