Downtown Line accident should not have happened: PM Lee

The accident at the Downtown Line (DTL) work site in Bugis which left two dead should not have happened, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in his latest Facebook post on Thursday.
Lee, who added that he was “very saddened” to hear of the tragedy, also expressed condolences to the families of the two victims, both nationals of the People's Republic of China.
The construction accident, the worst in Singapore since the Nicoll Highway collapse in 2004 which claimed four lives, also caused eight workers to suffer minor injuries. Full story
