Singapore Changi Airport open to Qantas' Asia plans

SINGAPORE'S Changi Airport believes there is potential for growth on routes to Australia and says it would welcome moves by Qantas to set up a full-service carrier in the city state.
The Singaporeans are keen to grow passenger traffic at Changi, which was corporatised in 2009, and want to lift numbers from to 50 million by 2014 from 40 million last year.
Changi executive vice-president air hub development Yam Kum Weng pointed to moves by Jetstar to start low-cost long-haul operations to Melbourne using a Singapore–based Airbus A330. Full story
