OPINION: Hailing in the rain

BESIDES getting stuck in traffic, taxi punters in Singapore face another perennial problem. The unebbing flow of cabs coursing up and down the city's streets seems miraculously to dry up the moment it starts to rain. After all, there is nothing like a tropical downpour to make one favour a cab over other modes of public transport, many of which involve getting thoroughly drenched. Full story
