29 Indonesian sailers stranded in Singapore harbor send out SOS

Jakarta. As many as 29 Indonesian crew members from state shipping line Djakarta Lloyd have been stuck for more that a year aboard two ships moored in Singapore because of the company’s debt problems, a government official confirmed on Monday.
Bambang Ervan, a spokesman from the Ministry of Transportation, said two Djakarta Lloyd ships — KM Pontianak CJN III-34 and KM Makassar CJN-39 — had been detained by Singapore since May last year at the request of Australian National Lines over unpaid debts of $3.3 million. Full story
