By relying more on Newater and desalinated water, SINGAPORE plans to turn totally water-sufficient in future. But it will however not be able to become fully energy-independent.
Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew believes that there is not enough chance for Singapore to complete energy sufficiency, as it lacks natural sources of energy.
Mr. Lee painted a gloomy picture by saying that if there would be no energy, everyone would die. He noted that the country had to bring in gas from other countries. Full Story
