Singapore passes amendment bills for elections

Singapore parliament on Tuesday passed the amendment bills for the parliamentary and presidential elections.
According to local TV broadcaster Channel NewsAsia, the changes revolve around a new cooling off day, the Non-Constituency Members of Parliament (NCMP) scheme as well as internet election advertizing.
The cooling off day will be on the eve of polling day, when no campaigning except for party political broadcasts is allowed. Full Story
