Singapore Airlines (SIA) could lose as much as 10 million Singapore dollars (7 million U.S. dollars) a day due to the flying ban resulting from airport closures in Europe, local media reported on Tuesday.
Aviation analysts said that a conservative estimate is 5 million to 10 million Singapore dollars (4 million-7 million U.S. dollars) loss a day for the SIA.
The airport closures also mean the SIA is not taking new bookings for now, which impacted its revenue significantly, given that the airline operates its superjumbo Airbus 380 to London, Paris and Zurich, some of its most popular routes. Full Story
