TIGER Airways passengers bound for Hobart were stranded in Melbourne for eight hours yesterday while their plane was assessed by engineers.

Low-cost airlines like Tiger have to improve their customer service or face tough new laws stemming from the Federal Government's White Paper on National Aviation Policy.
