Singapore ramps up security at check points

SINGAPORE, Dec 27 — It looks like an ordinary trash bin, but it can withstand blasts from up to 6.8kg of explosives planted inside.
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) bought 15 of these blast-resistant trash bins last month for the Woodlands checkpoint as a security measure against terrorists, while still providing people with the convenience of having somewhere to throw their rubbish.
