Singapore businessman Dr Anthony Soh has just been made a director of Henry Heng's Perth-based bottled water outfit, Refresh Group.
Last October, the Singapore Securities Council declared Soh "unsuited" to be a director of a listed company for five years. It banned him from making takeovers for five years, and from even trading on the Singapore exchange for three years without consent.
Oddly enough, Soh's corporate misfortunes had their genesis in Australia when much of his wealth, about $30 million, was caught up in the 2008 collapse of Opes Prime — torpedoing a $S100 million ($A86 million) takeover and bringing him to the attention of Singaporean authorities.
