DOHA • The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Singapore Conference, jointly organised by the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and the Confederation of Indian Industry, will be held in Singapore from October 9-11 this year.

This premier international conference for the Indian diaspora is modelled after the PBD (Non-Resident Indian Day) event held in India annually. Its objective is to reach out to Indian residents in the Asia-Pacific and the Gulf regions and to provide a platform for delegates to gain insights into business and investment opportunities in India.

It will also be an opportunity to network with government leaders, industry captains and experts from academia.

The conference highlights include a gala dinner and cultural evening to be attended by the S R Nathan, the President of Singapore who will be the guest of honour. There will also be dialogue sessions with senior Singaporean leaders, including Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister and Lee Kuan Yew, Minister Mentor of Singapore.

Delegates can also participate in more than 12 sessions on various themes covering the busyness community's interests. Speakers at the sessions include ministers and decision makers, prominent businessmen and industry leaders from Asia.
