"Under fire from the hedge funds, which want a break-up of the company, Deutsche Börse has approached Temasek, the Singapore government-owned investment group, with an invitation to invest.
Kurt Viermetz, Deutsche Börse’s chairman, contacted his opposite number at Temasek with the idea, according to people close to the affair. Temasek is now studying the proposal, though it is far from certain it will proceed with an investment."
