S$20 million to ensure safer online transactions

SINGAPORE, 17 JUNE 2008 -- The government is investing S$20 million to facilitate the secure delivery of online services offered by both the public and private sectors, said Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts.

The nationwide platform, dubbed National Authentication Framework (NAF), will add a layer of security, known as two-factor authentication (2FA), to confidential online transactions.
