"Singapore Telecom’s response is most strident, simply because it has the most to lose from structural separation. Indeed, SingTel’s antagonists make great fun quoting SingTel subsidiary Optus’ words in favour of structural separation back in SingTel’s face. But SingTel’s arguments shouldn’t be dismissed as self-serving because they do make sense. For example, SingTel points to the fact there is existing network competition in Singapore as argument enough against separation. Optus might disagree, but there is relevance in SingTel’s defence to the Australian context."
