Tiger Airways blames operational constraints

EMBATTLED Tiger Airways has cancelled another two flights.

More than 100 passengers in Melbourne and the Gold Coast were left marooned after their flights were cancelled yesterday afternoon.

It follows six cancellations in early December, which the fledgling airline put down to "operational" issues.

Tiger Airways, owned by Singapore Airlines, has again blamed operational constraints, but refused to elaborate on the reason for yesterday's cancellation.

Tiger Airways spokesman Matt Hobbs said the airline had offered passengers the option of flying on a later flight, using another carrier or getting a full refund. "We don't cancel flights lightly," he said.
