Ten illegal immigrants nabbed trying to enter Singapore by sea

Singapore - Ten illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Indonesia were caught trying to enter Singapore by sea over the Chinese New Year holidays, the Police Coast Guard said Saturday. In separate cases itemized in The Straits Times, a Myanmar national was caught trying to swim into Singapore on Friday.

Six suspected Indonesians aged between 18 and 38 tried to enter via a motorboat. Three other Myanmar nationals between 19 and 29 were caught on Thursday attempting to swim ashore. So far this year, 23 people have been arrested while trying to enter the city-state by sea this year.
