SWFs finds private equity bedfellows

Sovereign wealth funds are beginning to use a new template – investing in private equity funds, apparently as a means to defend themselves from a public backlash against their growing direct investment in banks and industrial companies in the west.

In the past fortnight, China Investment Corp has emerged as the sole investor in a new JC Flowers fund, while Government of Singapore Investment Corporation is poised to be a dominant investor in a new TPG fund. >>>> More
