Leading port operator PSA Singapore Terminals handled in excess of 27m teu in 2007, marking a 13% year-on-year increase.

With volumes expected to continue swelling this year, PSA is expanding capacity at its Pasir Panjang Terminal (PPT) with new berths and new cranes being rolled out from 2008 to 2009. PSA is equipping all its new container berths with new super post-panamax quay cranes.

Kuah Boon Wee, PSA chief executive Southeast Asia & Singapore Terminals, said: “In addition to accelerating developments at Pasir Panjang Terminal, we are also concurrently upgrading our facilities at Brani, Keppel and Tanjong Pagar Terminals to serve our customers’ needs now and into the future.”
