SINGAPORE’S chief minister Goh Chok Tong and his accompanying delegation paid a visit yesterday afternoon to the Pearl-Qatar project.
He was received at Al-Mahara, the new shopping centre, by a number of officials of the United Development Company (UDC), the Pearl-Qatar’s main developer.
He was briefed on the development stages of the Pearl-Qatar project, its cost, remaining stages, number of homes, hotels, ports and other utilities, as well as facilities being offered to investors in the Pearl-Qatar.
The minister also went on a sea tour during which he was briefed on construction of the Porto Arabia project
He praised the Pearl-Qatar project’s outstanding location as well the big sketch displayed at Al-Mahara and underlined said it would be an important centre for entertainment in the region.
The Pearl-Qatar project is being executed on a man-made island and covers 400 hectares of reclaimed land.–QNA
