Iran, Singapore to expand technical-scientific cooperation

Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology in a meeting with a Singaporean delegation here Wednesday expressed Iran's desire to expand technical and scientific cooperation with Singapore.

Alireza Jahangiri said Iran has had remarkable growth in the scientific development and by having an average growth rate of 30 percent owns the highest scientific growth in the region.

He added, "Iran ranks first in some scientific fields among the Islamic world and Middle East region."

Deputy minister in technology affairs pointed out, "Iran with 70 million population, vast geographical area, young and active population and high developing potentials need investment for building infrastructures and developing structures and providing necessary manpower and in this concern is interested to cooperate with other countries."

In the meeting, the Singaporean delegation expressed interests to expand scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
