Japanese cosmetics maker Kanebo announced today that they will be recalling 54 skin whitening products distributed all over Asia due to reports and complaints coming in that they were causing white patches and uneven coloring among its users. They suspect that it is due to a substance called 4HPB, which was developed exclusively by the company.
A spokeswoman for the company said that they received several complaints from customers that white patches started showing on their skin after using the products. Full story
