During the exchanges between Ms Lim and Minister Khaw, Ms Lim continued to press on this point. One can clearly see from the video below that Minister Khaw was put in a spot as he tried to dodge Ms Lim’s questions with irrelevant answers:
Ms Lim continued to ask Minister Khaw to clarify if he thinks that the 1-month termination clause in AIM contract for critical IT system is reasonable and does not jeopardize the continuity of services to the residents.
Mr Khaw kept insisting that such software is quite standard and is available in the market which one can buy from. In other words, Mr Khaw is implying that even if the contract is terminated today, one can simply walk into, say, Funan Centre tomorrow, to buy the software off the shelf like Microsoft Office.
Mr Khaw seemed to forget that the software was developed over 1-2 years at a cost of $23.8 million. Can anyone simply walk into Funan Centre to buy a $23.8 million software? Full story
