Sales trainer Lee, 34, told reporters after their walkabout that she would bring a more "personal touch" as a female MP, because "women have a different point of view when we look at different things so that could add on to the value".
"That's probably where we are able to understand the people better," said Lee, who is one four candidates contesting the by-election. Voters in the constituency go to the polls this Saturday.
She also urged residents not to fear voting for the opposition and losing out on government programmes or benefits.
"To me, if it's a government-initiated programme, there's no reason why regardless of any party that takes over, the government-initiated programme should not still carry on," she said. Full story
