SINGAPORE--Singapore's economy grew in the fourth quarter, beating analysts' predictions of a fourth-quarter contraction and escaping the designation of recession.
Gross domestic product for the three months to Dec. 31 grew 1.8% on a seasonally adjusted and annualized basis, compared with a revised 6.3% contraction in the third quarter, according to advance estimates Wednesday by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Full story
