Kopitiam Group keeping mum about action taken against PRC worker who hit elderly Singaporean lady with water jug

A netizen earlier reported an incident on the Net involving a PRC and a Singaporean granny (‘PRC staff hammers elderly SG granny with water jug, Pinoy staff come to her rescue‘). The granny was reported to have been by a water jug thrown by a PRC staff working at Plaza Singapura Kopitiam last Sunday (4 Nov) at about 4.30 pm in the afternoon.
SPH’s Chinese newspaper later went to Plaza Singapura Kopitiam and confirmed the incident. They managed to interview some of the staff and confirm that the PRC lady involved in the incident is no longer working there. The PRC was said to have been working in Singapore for the past 3 years. She worked at Plaza Singapura Kopitiam for less than a year. The rest of the staff said they did not know what happened to the PRC.
It is not known if the PRC has been fired or transferred to other Kopitiam outlets to continue working in Singapore. Given that MOM is tightening the inflow of foreign workers, it is likely that Kopitiam chain would continue to employ her so as to continue to take advantage of the cheap foreign labour.
According to the Chinese newspaper report, it tried to contact the management of Kopitiam chain multiple times. However, the management did not respond. Full story
