Kelvin says, from a business perspective, its tough to choose a Singaporean candidate over someone who will be competent and more cost effective.
"I could get an engineering graduate from one of the top universities in China for a quarter, or a third [of the pay]."
"And he would be willing to work six days a week 10 hours a day. How do you fight with that?"
He wonders whether government subsidies to incentivise businesses to hire Singaporeans create a protectionist environment that won't be good in the long run. Full story
