inSing.com, 11 Sep 2012More than S$115 million has been spent on the National Day Parade (NDP) over the past 10 years.
The highest spending was for NDP 2010, Channel NewsAsia reported.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen gave a written parliamentary reply to Workers' Party member Gerald Giam, saying that more than S$20 million was spent on NDP 2010 at the Padang, compared with about S$17 million for NDP 2011 at the Marina Bay floating platform.
The higher cost was because there was a need to harden the field at the Padang so that it could withstand a heavier load, and to put up LED screens and supporting towers for the visual display. Full story
