Multinationals continue to move their regional operations here, attracted by the fantastic infrastructure, high standard of living, and an educated, English-speaking and multicultural population. But a multinational by definition employs people from all over the world and if they want to bring their foreign expertise with them, what’s the big deal?Singapore benefits from a thriving and diverse economy and Singaporeans benefit through access to a wide selection of jobs and the chance to grow professionally and personally by being exposed to all the different cultures.And of course as everybody acknowledges, but refuses to do anything about, Singaporeans really do need to start having babies. But you know what, if they don’t, the island isn’t going to sink into the sea, the doors will just need to be opened wider. Full story
