Malaysian MP urges Singapore government to heed the call of Save Vui Kong Campaign

TAWAU: Member of parliament Datuk Chua Soong Bui has urged the Singapore government to heed the call of Save Vui Kong Campaign, Malaysia, to put a moratorium on death penalty and to postpone all death penalties in the island nation, while waiting for the amendment to the Misuse of Drugs Act to be approved.
Chua urged this in support of the same call by the Save Vui Kong Campaign, Malaysia.
She said she welcomed the proposal by the Singapore government on the amendment to abolish the mandatory death sentence and the court is given discretion to impose life imprisonment for drug mules under certain circumstances. Full story
