Trial to begin for bus driver who caused the death of Singaporean Cambridge student Tan Mingwei

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a former bus driver accused of causing the death of a Cambridge University medical student in north London by careless driving.
Mingwei Tan was found lying in a road in Haverstock Hill with fatal injuries in the early hours of September 30 2010.
The 20-year-old from Singapore, who was living in north London, is believed to have been hit by a bus.
A post-mortem examination revealed she died of multiple injuries, and an inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned.
Shahriar Firouzian, 52, of Harrow Way, Watford, Hertfordshire, denies causing death by careless driving. Full story
