Judge refuses to revoke bail of Vietnamese Interpol fugitive hiding in Singapore

Nguyen Thi Hanh, 53, is allegedly a drug dealer, the leader of a human trafficking ring that targets women and children, and the head of a transnational gambling syndicate.
The prosecutor argued that this time around her request for $15,000 bail should be revoked, as she had already jumped bail once and lied to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) about the location of her residence four times then, when she had to report to them every week and inform them on her whereabouts.
This made her very likely to jump her bail again.
Surprisingly, Judge Lin Shuhao rejected the request that her bail be revoked, explaining that the charges Ms. Nguyen faces are bailable and that the information provided by the Interpol was irrelevant for the case. Full story
