Authorities in Singapore have assured India of providing important details related to some private entities in connection with the investigations into the 2G spectrum allocation case.
The development came after a team of ED and CBI investigators, led by ED Deputy Director Sharad Choudhary, recently visited the country and met the officials of Singapore's Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) in order to take the probe forward.
A few private firms, according to sources, have invested and routed funds in this country just before they were allocated the 2G spectrum licences and the agencies are probing the money trail in this regard.
Both the probe agencies had gathered vital inputs on the investments and transactions made by certain telecom companies and real estate firms embroiled in the scam in Singapore and a Letter Rogatory (LR) was earlier sent in this regard. Full story
