Last year’s General Election not only brought in many new faces to the political arena but also proved to be one where the Internet and social media was widely used by commentators and candidates.
There was also live streaming of various rallies too.
The ruling People’s Action Party won the polls by clinching 81 of the 87 parliamentary seats.
However, the party’s 60.14 per cent of total votes was its lowest since Singapore’s independence.
Meanwhile, the Workers’ Party created history by capturing Aljunied GRC – the first ever opposition party to win a GRC. Full story
