Kimchi and cabbage lovers can breathe a sigh of relief – the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) said that its test results on fresh vegetables from China have so far been “satisfactory”.
The news comes amidst investigations in China into reports that vegetable sellers were spraying cabbage with formaldehyde to make it appear fresh.
It sparked some alarm here in Singapore, where almost one third of fresh vegetables are imported from China. Full story
