Singapore mulls allowing covered bond issuance.

As Dow Jones Newswires reports Tuesday, the Monetary Authority of Singapore is considering allowing the country’s banks to issue covered bonds in small amounts to widen their sources of funding. The bonds could potentially be Basel III-compliant.
The MAS said in a consultation paper it is allowing banks to issue up to 2% of the value of their total assets. Full story
