Singapore To Proactively Prepare Public Services For An Ageing Population, Says Gan Kim Yong

Mr Gan Kim Yong, Singapore Minister for Health said the island nation needed to act now to address the challenges posed by an ageing population and pledged the government would take the lead in the efforts to do so.
"We need to act now," he said. "The first cohort of Baby Boomers turns 65 years old this year. By 2020, some 600,000 people will be above 65 years old, and from there, the pace of ageing will start to accelerate. 15% of our population will be above 65 years old by then. Full story
