SINGAPORE were looking to make an impact on the Malaysian football scene after an 17-year absence but it turned out to be a painful one instead for V. Sundramoorthy and the LionsXII.
Sundramoorthy put on a brave front after seeing his LionsXII slump to a 2-1 defeat to champions Kelantan in their opening Super League match at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday.
It was heartbreak for the Lions whose home is the Jalan Besar Stadium where the pitch is made of artificial turf _ the first time an M-League match was played on the surface -- which is expected to be a bane for Malaysian teams. Full story
