Death row inmate Yong Vui Kong appeals to President Tony Tan for clemency

An impassionate plea is being made to spare a death row inmate from the noose.
Malaysian Yong Vui Kong was sentenced to death when he was arrested in 2007 for trafficking 47.27 grams of heroin.
Yong, now 23 and a changed person, has written twelve letters in hopes that more people can learn about the last days of his life in prison.
In his twelfth and last letter, he wrote "I feel that the existence of the death penalty is not for the sake of retribution, but rather, a way to allow the offender to understand, and fully confront the mistake he has committed." Full story
