SingTel says it is cooperating with Indian authorities on licensing violations

SINGAPORE -(MarketWatch)- Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. is cooperating with Indian authorities on an investigation into alleged violations of the nation's telecom licensing rules, a company spokeswoman said Monday.
SingTel earlier signed pacts with Bharti Airtel Ltd. and Tata Communications Ltd. to allow them to provide International Private Leased Circuits to the Singaporean company's Indian clients. The Indian government said this violates the rules as SingTel isn't allowed to serve local clients because it doesn't have a telecom license in the country. Full story
