As many as 20 volunteers, mostly Singaporean students from the Civil Defense Lion Hearts Club, are providing disaster management training to villagers on Mt Merapi’s slopes in Ngargomulyo village, Magelang, from December 9-15.
Most of the volunteers are medical students from the Institute of Technical Education East Singapore and will be assisted by the Singapore Civil Defense. "On December 14, we will have a simulation of Merapi eruption and cold lava,” he said. Full story
