Given Singapore's limited resources, the republic needs to harness advanced technologies to address threats to its national security.
In the addendum to the President's address in Parliament, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said the National Security Engineering Centre (NSEC), set up in partnership with the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), supported this through a national security technology roadmap that prioritised and developed technological applications.
