Tiger’s resumption of daily Melbourne-Perth flights next Wednesday, September 7, raises the issue of stand alone low cost networks versus integrated networks which is an important practical issue for travellers looking for a bargain.
While Tiger’s Melbourne-Perth flights fills in the gap on its route map between the rest of its Australian network and the Singapore-Perth flights, flown by its Singaporean division, it doesn’t attempt to allow a convenient transfer from those flights to the gradually reopening domestic network, which had been shutdown for six weeks because the airline had been declared a threat to public safety by CASA.
