Singapore Red Devils fans skeptical about supposed listing plan

Singapore - Singapore fans of the English football giant Manchester United and analysts voiced skepticism Thursday at the prospect of the club listing on the Singapore stock exchange in a bid to raise up to 1 billion US dollars.
The debt-ridden English Premier League champion, owned by the US-based Glazer family, reportedly plans the listing to tap its huge fan base in Asia, estimated at more than 190 million supporters, as a means to ease its financial burdens.
However, even loyal Singapore fans of the legendary 19-time English titleholders said on local websites that they would think twice before buying shares of their team, given that it was deep in the red. Full story
