inSing.com, 1 Aug 2011The first-ever Orchard Rd Getai yesterday attracted some 10,000 spectators and more than 10,000 online views on inSing.
The getai, costing more than $30,000 in production, boasted a strong cast with getai veterans Wang Lei, Lin Ru Ping and Guan Xue Mei as hosts, and performers including Ming Zhu Sisters, Bao Bei Sisters, Hao Hao, Huang Qing Yuan and Zhuang Qing Yu.
An audience began gathering for the show from 1pm at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. The event eventually saw not only a full house, the entire Civic Plaza was packed to the edges with a standing audience. Many even stood behind the stage for the show and got to see the performers up close. Full story
