The decision to grant the public transport companies a 1 percent hike in fares by the PAP-controlled Public Transport Council (PTC) has befuddled netizens who question why its Chairman Gerald Ee was so ‘eager’ to ‘help’ SBS and SMRT while dragging his feet over the review of ministerial salaries.
Gerald Ee is also the Chairman of the Committee to review the obscene salaries of PAP ministers which was formed on 11 May 2011 at the ‘request’ of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. However, nearly three months have passed and there are still no updates from Mr Ee. Full story
