S.R. Nathan will not seek third term

Singapore - Singapore President S R Nathan on Friday said he would not seek a third term in office as he felt age was catching up with him.
'In a few days I will be reaching the age of 87 years,' Nathan said in statement.
'At this stage of my life, I do not believe that I can undertake indefinitely the heavy responsibilities and physical demands of the position of head of state,' he said.
Nathan said he would step down when his second term ends on August 31. Full story
