Singapore Man Cleared Of Murder After 6 Years In Jail, Judge Slammed Prosecutors for "Serious Lapses"

SINGAPORE, July 6 (Bernama) -- An odd-job laborer was declared innocent and released from prison after the local court of appeal cleared him of murdering a woman six years ago, Xinhua news agency reported, citing a local daily report on Wednesday.
Justice V. K. Rajah highlighted "serious lapses" by the police and prosecutors, saying that the 42-year-old's confessions were obtained under troubling circumstances which appeared to be deliberate breaches in procedures rather than mere carelessness. Full story
