Singapore Airlines pleads guilty to air cargo shipment price fixing, agreed to pay US$48 million fine

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) -- Singapore Airlines Cargo Pte Ltd. on Thursday pleaded guilty and agreed to pay a $48 million criminal fine for its role in a conspiracy to fix prices in the air transportation industry, the U.S. Justice Department said.
According to court documents, Singapore-based Singapore Airlines Cargo engaged in a conspiracy to fix the cargo rates charged to certain customers in the United States and elsewhere for international air shipments from as early as February 2002, until at least February 14, 2006. Full story
