Presidential hopeful Tan Kin Lian has been denied use of a function room at the Grassroots Club for gathering of his supporters.
In a posting on his blog yesterday, Mr Tan wrote:
“I wanted to book a function room at the Grassroots Club for a weekly gathering of my supporters. They reminded me politely that their regulations disallow the club to be used for political activities.”
Though Mr Tan explained to the staff that the room will be used for his Presidential election which is non-partisan in nature, they are not able to decide on the matter and as a result, he had to book a hotel for the gathering. Full story
